Alonge Emerges Winner of APC Chairmanship Primary Election in Ibadan North East LGA

Babatunde Olawale Alonge has emerged winner of the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship primary election for Ibadan North East Local Government Area in the forthcoming Oyo State Local Government elections.

Alonge, in the election held on Monday, August 28, 2023, across the 12 wards in the local government, polled a total of 1,037 votes to defeat Kafayat Ololade Lawal who scored 331 votes.

The results of the election are as follows:

Ward 1: Alonge – 63, Kafayat – 43

Ward 2: Alonge – 38, Kafayat – 32

Ward 3: Alonge – 101, Kafayat – 17

Ward 4: Alonge – 105, Kafayat – 10

Ward 5: Alonge – 44, Kafayat – 20

Ward 6: Alonge – 270, Kafayat – 8

Ward 7: Alonge – 53, Kafayat – 45

Ward 8: Alonge – 105, Kafayat – 4

Ward 9: Alonge – 39, Kafayat – 110

Ward 10: Inconclusive

Ward 11: Alonge – 112, Kafayat – 4

Ward 12: Alonge – 107, Kafayat – 38

TOTAL: Alonge – 1,037 , Kafayat – 331.

The only ward where the election was inconclusive was Ward 10 due to some irregularities.

In his victory speech, Alonge thanked the delegates for their support and promised to work hard to deliver on the promises he made during his consultation. He also called on all APC members in the local government and beyond to unite and work together to win the forthcoming local government elections.
