Southwest Young Leaders Lament Loss of Governor Akeredolu, a Champion of Justice and Youth

The Southwest Young Stakeholders Forum (SYF) have joined other well meaning voices in mourning the death of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN, CON, former President of the Nigerian Bar Association and Governor of Ondo State, who passed away on December 27, 2023.

In a press release issued today, the SYF, representing the vibrant young wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Southwest, expressed their heartfelt condolences to the Akeredolu family, the people of Ondo State, and the nation as a whole.

“Governor Akeredolu’s contributions to Nigerian politics have left an indelible mark,” the statement read. “His influential leadership as the Chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association and later as the Chairman of the South West Governors Forum showcased a deep commitment to justice and the welfare of his people.”

The SYF, particularly, highlighted Governor Akeredolu’s unwavering support for youth initiatives and his dedication to providing opportunities for the younger generation. “He was not only a political luminary but also a friend to the youth,” the statement emphasized. “His support for our initiatives and commitment to our future were sources of inspiration for the Forum.”

Recognizing Governor Akeredolu’s “diplomatic, forthright, and dogged leadership,” the SYF paid tribute to his legacy, emphasizing the enduring principles of justice and progress that he championed throughout his illustrious career.

 

“As we collectively mourn the passing of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu,” the statement concluded, “Southwest Young Stakeholders pay tribute to his legacy, emphasizing the enduring principles of justice and progress that he championed throughout his illustrious career. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”

The press release was signed by the leadership of the SYF, including Lanre Oyegbola (Chairman), Titilope Gbadamosi (Secretary), and other prominent members.
