In a shift towards digitalization, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) is conducting a free mock examination for all prospective candidates for the first-ever Computer-Based WASSCE for Private Candidates, scheduled to begin on January 31st, 2024.

This mock exam, scheduled for the 23rd and 24th of January, 2024, aims to familiarize candidates with the online examination platform and provide valuable practice before the actual test. Candidates can access the mock examination portal from their mobile phones or personal computers at mockcbt.waec.org.ng and take the exam at their own convenience throughout the two days.

“This mock examination is a crucial step in ensuring a smooth transition to the new computer-based format for private candidates,” said Moyosola F. Adesina, Acting Head of Public Affairs at WAEC. “We encourage all registered candidates to take advantage of this opportunity to familiarize themselves with the platform and gain confidence for the actual exam.”

To ensure accessibility, WAEC will send login details to all registered candidates via email and SMS after the registration deadline. Additionally, a tutorial video demonstrating how to use the examination portal will be available on all WAEC social media platforms.

This initiative marks a significant step for WAEC in embracing digital assessment, aimed at improving efficiency and reducing exam malpractices.
