Royal Splendor: Olubadan Crowns Aare and Yeye Aare of Ibadanland in Glittering Ceremony
In a regal ceremony at the King’s Alarere Palace in Ibadan, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Mohood Olalekan Balogun, installed Alhaji Daud Makanjuola Akinola and his wife, Alhaja Mariam Olubukola Akinola, as the Aare and Yeye Aare of Ibadanland, respectively, on Monday.
Notable attendees at the official conferment of these prestigious chieftaincy titles included the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, and Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Remi Oseni. Other dignitaries present were Oyo Deputy Speaker Fadeyi Abiodun, Governor Seyi Makinde’s ally Otunba Seye Famojuro, Double T, and Senator Soji Akanbi.
Expressing gratitude, the newly appointed Aare of Ibadanland thanked the monarch and the Olubadan-in-Council for the honor bestowed upon him. He also commended Governor Seyi Makinde for fostering an inclusive system of governance that promotes interfaith harmony and contributes to the state’s economic expansion.
Among the attendees were Azeez, SSA to Oyo Governor on LG and Chieftaincy matters, Hon. Ramota Agberemi Dabo, Chairman Agric Credit Alhaji Taofik Akewugbagold, Oluyole PDP Chairmanship Candidate Akeem Olatunji, Former Special Adviser on LG and Chieftaincy Matters Adeniyi Adeyinka Kazeem, and Hon. Lukman Olajide.
The event also drew the presence of market leaders, including Alhaji YK Abass, Princess Folashade Abeo, Ibadan mogajis, traditional leaders, representatives of Muslim societies, Islamic clerics, and other well-wishers. The King’s Alarere Palace was adorned with prestige as the community celebrated the installation of the Aare and Yeye Aare of Ibadanland.
