Barr Akeem Agbaje Honoured as Most Distinguished Ibadan Indigene by CCII
In a grand ceremony that highlighted the rich cultural heritage and the spirit of community service, Barr Akeem Agbaje was honoured as the Most Distinguished Ibadan Indigene by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII).
The prestigious event was held at the main bowl of Liberty Stadium, drawing notable figures from various sectors, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
The award was presented by the Olubadan of Ibadan, His Imperial Majesty Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin, who was represented at the event.
In his address, the Olubadan extolled Barr Akeem Agbaje’s virtues, highlighting his unwavering philanthropy and steadfast commitment to the development of Ibadan and Oyo State at large.
“This award is a testament to Barr Akeem Agbaje’s enduring contributions to our community. His dedication to the welfare of our people and the progress of our land is exemplary,” the Olubadan declared. He further prayed for Agbaje’s continued success and greater heights in his business and political endeavours, emphasizing that he is living the proud legacy of the Agbaje family.
In his acceptance speech, Barr Akeem Agbaje expressed profound gratitude to the CCII for the recognition.
“I am deeply honored to receive this award. It is a reminder of our collective responsibility to give back to our community and to uplift those around us.”
Demonstrating his commitment to the cause, he donated the sum of N2,000,000 and pledged to support the Ibadan Week with an annual donation of N2,000,000 for the next five years.
Following the ceremony, a grand reception was held at the Aare Afe Babalola Bar Center, Iyaganku, where the celebration continued with a display of camaraderie and community spirit.
The reception was graced by a constellation of distinguished personalities including Barr Sarafa Alli, APC Senator Oyo South, APC Chieftain Hon Fatai Ibikunle, Mogaji Bolatito Akinyemi, Hon Mrs. Odekunbi, Alhaja Faosat Abiola, JP Hammed Digbi, former NBA Chairman Oyo Branch, Barr Lukman Olaoye SAN, Hon Taoreed Abolaji Adeleke, former Chairman of Ibadan South West, Barr Olatunji SAN, Hon Kayode Adanla, and numerous other notable figures from diverse walks of life.
