Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola-Alao fondly called Omo Oloore, a true son of the soil and son of late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Aare AbdulAzeez Arisekola-Alao has formally declared his intention to vie for the forthcoming Ibadan North Federal constituency bye-election.

With his rich cultural heritage and deep knowledge and understanding of Ibadan North, Hon. Umar Arisekola-Alao is well positioned to drive development to Ibadan North through robust community engagement and advocacy on the floor of the green chambers.

In the statement released by his media office, Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola-Alao paid glowing tribute to the late incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinremi, describing him as a pride of Ibadan North

who worked tirelessly to improve the lot of the constituency and constituents.

“Our late member representing Ibadan North constituency, Hon. Musiliu Olaide Akinrem was a good man, a patriot who worked tirelessly to bring progressive development to Ibadan North. Through the provision of infrastructures and several empowerment schemes, he improved the living standards of the people. He did his best for us and without any iota of doubt, we can all say Hon. Akinremi did well for our constituency. It is my heartfelt prayer that Almighty Allah will grant his soul Aljannah Firdaus and comfort his family, friends and loved ones.”

In his declaration of interest, Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola-Alao espoused his record in public service, notably as former Youths and Sports Commissioner in the administration of former Governor Abiola Ajimobi. He declared that during his stint as Commissioner for Youths and Sports in Oyo State, he oversaw several initiatives which targeted the development of youths. He also energized Shooting Stars Football club, ensuring they had an instant promotion and return back to elite division of the Nigerian professional football league. A record that is still unequaled in the state.

As a trained accountant who has had forays in the private sector coupled with his experience in public service, Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola-Alao is keenly ready to bring all to bear in his quest to bring more progressive development to Ibadan North federal constituency.
