Tax Reform: Proposed Tax Bills Will Shape Nigeria’s Economic Future – Sunday Dare

The Special Adviser to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Media and Public Communications, Sunday Dare, has called on Nigerians to focus on the broader benefits of the proposed tax reform bills currently under legislative consideration. Describing the reforms as transformative, Dare emphasized their potential to shape the nation’s economic future for generations to come.
In a statement released via his X handle on Monday, December 2, Hon Sunday Dare asserted that the tax reforms, when enacted into law, would rank among the most impactful pieces of legislation in Nigeria’s history. He urged Nigerians to prioritize constructive dialogue and engagement over resistance and divisive rhetoric.

“The proposed tax bills are designed for the collective benefit of Nigeria and are undergoing essential legislative scrutiny. Undermining these processes with unproductive reactions will only worsen our situation.”
“Electoral cycles come and go, but the structures we build now will affect generations,” Dare noted. “Engagement, not opposition, discourse not diatribe, will lead us to solutions that benefit all. And that is what Mr. President is about.”

Addressing concerns over the bills, Hon Sunday Dare warned against identity politics and divisive comments, advocating instead for unity and cooperation as the country navigates this period of change.
“Fostering an atmosphere of cooperation that reflects the unity and resilience of Nigeria should be paramount now. Together, we can navigate this period of change to secure a prosperous future for all Nigerians.”
