Erling Haaland Signs 10-Year Contract
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland has committed his future to the club by signing a new long-term deal that will see him stay at the Etihad Stadium until 2034. The Norwegian, who joined City from Borussia Dortmund in 2022, has been in sensational form, scoring 111 goals in 126 appearances for the club.
Haaland’s previous contract, which included a release clause, was set to expire in 2027. However, with this new agreement, Haaland is now tied to Manchester City for the next nine-and-a-half years, making it the longest contract in Premier League history. The deal will keep him at the club until his 34th birthday, should he remain for the full duration.
The striker expressed his delight in a statement following the signing of the new contract: “I am really happy to have signed my new contract and to be able to look forward to spending even more time at this great club. Manchester City is a special club, full of fantastic people with amazing supporters and it’s the type of environment that helps bring the best out of everybody.”
Haaland also took the opportunity to thank his manager, Pep Guardiola, his coaching staff, and his teammates, acknowledging their support since his arrival. “I also want to thank Pep, his coaching staff, my teammates, and everyone at the club as they have all helped me so much in the past couple of years,” Haaland added.
This renewal comes just two months after Guardiola signed his own two-year contract extension with City. Haaland’s impact at City has been remarkable, helping the club secure two Premier League titles, an FA Cup, a Champions League trophy, and a Super Cup since his move from Germany.
With 21 goals in 28 appearances this season, Haaland shows no sign of slowing down and is poised to continue his successful run at Manchester City for many years to come.
