Senator Ajimobi Was a Father and Statesman Whose Legacy Endures — Arisekola Alao Pays Tribute to the Late Governor

Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola Alao, a leading aspirant for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency seat and former Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Oyo State, has paid glowing tribute to the late former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on the occasion of his remembrance.

In a heartfelt message released by his media office, Arisekola Alao described Senator Ajimobi as a father, mentor, and true statesman whose contributions to governance and public service continue to inspire a new generation of leaders in Oyo State and across Nigeria.

“Senator Abiola Ajimobi was more than a political leader; he was a father figure to me and many others who had the honour of working under his guidance. His visionary leadership ushered in a more strategic, result-oriented system of governance that brought about visible socio-economic transformation in Oyo State,” he stated.

“Late Senator Ajimobi gave me the opportunity to serve in his cabinet. That singular trust he placed in me remains the foundation upon which I continue to build my political career and serve the people. His legacies are not only enduring but continue to shape governance structures within and beyond Oyo State.”

“Senator Ajimobi’s leadership transcended Oyo State; he was a respected figure in national political discourse, and his wisdom and bold approach to governance set a standard for many.”

“I pray that Almighty Allah continues to bless and strengthen our matriarch of the Ajimobi dynasty, Her Excellency, Dr. (Mrs.) Florence Ajimobi, and all members of the Ajimobi family. May the legacy of our departed leader live on, and may his soul find eternal peace.”
