Commemorative Statement by the Youth Wing of the All Progressives Congress (APC)

June 25, 2025

Today, we the youth of the All Progressives Congress (APC), gather our thoughts, prayers, and collective memory to mark five years since the passing of a visionary leader, a statesman par excellence, and a true progressive—His Excellency, Senator Abiola Adeyemi Ajimobi.

Senator Ajimobi was not just a political figure; he was a trailblazer who redefined governance in Oyo State and elevated the bar for purposeful leadership. As the first governor in the history of Oyo State to be elected for two consecutive terms, his legacy remains etched in the annals of our political and developmental journey.

He brought dignity to public service, restored order to governance, and championed policies that laid the groundwork for infrastructural renewal, security reform, and youth empowerment. Through his visionary “Restoration, Transformation, and Repositioning” agenda, he touched countless lives, particularly the youth, for whom he created avenues of hope and platforms for growth.

As young progressives, we continue to draw inspiration from his unmatched courage, eloquence, discipline, and unwavering loyalty to the ideals of the APC. He taught us the importance of intellect in leadership, the value of integrity, and the power of resilience.

On this solemn occasion, we reaffirm our commitment to uphold the values he lived and died for. We pledge to carry forward his legacy by being responsible citizens, active participants in governance, and agents of positive change in our communities.

We pray that Almighty Allah continues to grant him eternal rest and peace, and may his memory remain a guiding light for generations to come.

Rest on, Architect of Modern Oyo State.

You are forever in our hearts.

Signed,

Prince John Aremu
