Oyo RCCG Province 22 Football Competition: Jesus Palace and Jesus Vessel Set for Return Leg After 1-1 Draw

The Oyo Province 22 of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) continued its spirited inter-zonal football tournament with a thrilling encounter between RCCG Jesus Palace (Ikolaba) and RCCG Jesus Vessel (Akinigain, Akala Express) last Sunday, June 29, 2025.
The much-anticipated match took place at the Ikolaba High School field in Ibadan, drawing a large crowd of church members, youth supporters, and football enthusiasts across the province.



Kickoff was at approximately 3:50 pm, with both teams showing strong determination and energy throughout the first half. Despite several promising chances from the Jesus Vessel team, including multiple near misses that could have turned the tide early, the half ended goalless.
The second half resumed with increased intensity. Just three minutes in, Jesus Palace found the back of the net, taking the lead in the 3rd minute of the second half. However, their advantage was short-lived as Jesus Vessel responded with an equalizer in the 15 minute after, bringing the score to 1-1.

The hard-fought match concluded around 4:55 pm with both teams locked in a draw.
The return leg has been scheduled for Sunday, July 6, 2025, to determine the winner. Both Jesus Palace and Jesus Vessel teams have expressed their commitment to intensified training and are looking forward to the rematch with high hopes and renewed enthusiasm.
