Hon. Ikumogunniyi Biodun Asukuna, chieftain of APC in Oyo State and aspirant for the House of Representatives seat in Ibadan South West/Ibadan North West Federal Constituency, has paid glowing tribute to former President Muhammadu Buhari, describing his death as a national loss and the passing of a leader whose life epitomized honour, sacrifice, and patriotic devotion.

In a solemn statement issued, the financial expert described President Buhari as a man whose entire life was shaped by duty to country, a leader who stood firmly for the values of discipline, honesty, and public accountability, even in the most testing periods of Nigeria’s journey.

“President Muhammadu Buhari was more than a political leader. He was a statesman, a patriot, and a national symbol of honour. From his days as a courageous military officer to his era as Nigeria’s military head of state, and later, as a democratically elected president, he served with uncommon integrity and a deep love for the Nigerian nation.”

“His vision for a more disciplined and accountable Nigeria laid the groundwork for critical reforms in infrastructure, agriculture, security, and the war against corruption. Even when misunderstood, President Buhari remained true to his principles. His strength was in his silence, and his conviction never wavered.”

Hon. Asukuna extended heartfelt condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Buhari family, the Government and people of Katsina State, the Arewa community, and all Nigerians who mourn the passing of a leader who gave his all to the service of the nation.
