End of an Era: Arisekola Alao Pays Tribute to Former President Muhammadu Buhari

Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola Alao, All Progressives Congress (APC) aspirant for Ibadan North Federal Constituency, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Nigeria’s former President, Muhammadu Buhari, who died yesterday at the age of 82.
In a solemn tribute issued from his media office, the former Commissioner for Youth and Sport in Oyo State, described the former leader as a national icon whose life represented the end of an era marked by remarkable patriotism, principled leadership, and disciplined service to the nation.

“President Muhammadu Buhari lived a life of unwavering service to Nigeria, both as a military head of state and as a democratically elected president. His disciplined, simple and principled lifestyle remains a legacy that is worthy of emulation by public servants and leaders across all spheres.”
He further commiserated with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the immediate family of the late statesman, the Katsina State Government, the Arewa community, and Nigerians at large, noting that Buhari’s contributions to national stability and institutional reforms will not be forgotten.

“The passing of President Buhari is a great loss not just to Katsina or the North, but to all of Nigeria. He was a figure of history whose footprints are indelibly marked on our national journey.”
He also recalled the enduring relationship between the Buhari family and that of the late Aare Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Alao, noting that the personal and political bonds between both families spanned decades of mutual respect and national service.
“May Almighty Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his righteous deeds, and grant him eternal rest.”
