Oke-Ogun Progressive Councillors Back Tinubu’s Re-Election, Laud Sen Fatai Buhari Over University of Agriculture Approval

The 2018 Progressive Councillors Forum from Oke-Ogun Zone 1, comprising Iseyin, Iwajowa, Kajola, and Itesiwaju Local Governments, has declared its unflinching support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027, citing the recent approval of the Oke-Ogun University of Agriculture and Technology as a major milestone for the region.

The Forum, made up of councillors who served during the administration of the late Governor Abiola Ajimobi, held a strategic meeting today at the Teacher’s House in Okeho, Kajola Local Government Area, where they reviewed recent political developments and reaffirmed their commitment to the progressive cause.

In a communiqué jointly signed by Hon. Tajudeen Adesokan (Forum Chairman) and Hon. Najeem Ajekunle Alaje (Secretary), the Forum expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for his administration’s commitment to educational advancement and regional development, particularly the siting of the agricultural university in Oke-Ogun.

“We give kudos to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the establishment and approval of the Oke-Ogun University of Agriculture and Technology. This is a dream fulfilled for our people, and it reflects the President’s deep understanding of regional equity and national development,” the communiqué read.

The Forum also commended Senator Fatai Buhari Omotayo for his consistent advocacy and tireless efforts in championing the cause of the university’s actualization.

“Senator Buhari has stood firm and remained relentless in ensuring this project sees the light of day. His contributions are deeply appreciated by the entire zone.”

Looking ahead to the 2027 gubernatorial election in Oyo State, the Forum urged unity among all progressive leaders and stakeholders across the state.
“We call on all progressive party leaders to close ranks and offer their full support to whoever emerges as the party’s flag bearer for the 2027 governorship election. Our strength lies in our unity,” the communiqué stated.
