FG Blacklists K1 D Ultimate From All Flights

Captain, Pilot Also Suspended Pending Full Investigation
The Federal Government has placed popular Fuji musician, Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, widely known as K1 D Ultimate, on a no-fly list following his involvement in a security breach at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, on Tuesday, August 7, 2025.

According to a statement released by the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN), the action was taken in response to video footage and detailed reports from aviation agencies concerning an altercation between K1 D Ultimate and the staff and crew of ValueJet.

The incident reportedly escalated when Kwam 1 allegedly obstructed the taxiing of an aircraft by repeatedly positioning himself on the tarmac in front of the aircraft, prompting serious safety concerns.
Mr. Keyamo, in his statement, described the conduct as “reprehensible” and likened it to a “hostage situation,” noting that the singer’s actions posed a significant threat to passenger safety and contravened international aviation protocols.

“Contrary to what the agents of K1 D Ultimate have said, he constantly moved his position on the tarmac to actually block the aircraft from taxiing to take position on the runway for take-off. This is totally unacceptable behaviour,” the minister said.
He further noted that while the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) had suspended the licenses of the Captain and Pilot involved, justice must be applied evenly to all parties.
“No amount of provocation should have allowed the aircraft to begin taxiing without ensuring the individual standing in front of it was safely removed,” Keyamo added.
In what he described as a bid to maintain balance and uphold justice, Mr. Keyamo ordered that K1 be immediately placed on a no-fly list, restricting him from boarding both domestic and international flights pending the conclusion of a full investigation.
He also directed that all airlines operating within Nigeria be duly informed of the restriction and warned that any carrier who violates the directive would risk suspension or revocation of its operating license.
“The same standard that applies to the flight crew must also apply to the passenger. I have directed that K1 D Ultimate be placed on a no-fly list until further notice,” the statement concluded.
