The Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Coach Akin Olowokere, who tragically slumped and died on the pitch on Monday morning, August 11, 2025.

In a statement issued by the club’s management, Coach Olowokere was described as a dedicated and passionate football tactician, as well as a mentor, friend, and father figure to players and many others. The club noted that, despite his short time with the team, he exhibited deep compassion and left an indelible mark on the players and the wider football community.

“His commitment to the growth and success of our team was unwavering, and we hope his legacy continues to inspire generations to come,” the statement read.

The club extended its condolences to his family, friends, colleagues, players, and the entire Nigerian football fraternity, offering prayers and solidarity during what it described as a painful and difficult time.
