Proven in Service, Prepared for Leadership: Ademola Wasiu Alli Steps Up for Oyo Central

For decades, Alhaji Ademola Wasiu Alli (AWA) has quietly built a career defined by discipline, excellence, and a deep understanding of how government truly works. Now, as he steps into the political space of Oyo Central Senatorial District, he brings with him not just ambition but the rare experience of someone who has spent years inside the system, learning, shaping, and ensuring that policies translate into real results.

Born in 1964 to the Kuye Compound, Fiditi, Oyo State, he had his early education at Ago Egba High School, Ebute-Meta, before earning a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1989. His thirst for knowledge led him to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in 1997. Over the years, his professional competence earned him the prestigious fellowships of both the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA) and the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (FCTI).

Hon. Ademola Wasiu Alli began his career in 1990 as an accountant and later joined the Federal Civil Service in 1993. From that point, his journey became one of steady progress, built on hard work and honesty. He started as an Auditor at the Ministry of Defence, Lagos, and rose through the ranks to become the Director of Finance and Accounts at the same ministry, a role he held with distinction until his retirement in January 2024.

Those who have worked with him describe him as a man of precision, fairness, and empathy. He understands how government functions, from budget planning to implementation, and more importantly, how to make those structures work for the people. His years of service gave him a front-row view of what it takes to bring meaningful change, and that knowledge is what he now intends to channel toward delivering the dividends of democracy to his constituents.

He served as the National Coordinator of the National Social Safety Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO), a role where he helped design and supervise programs that supported vulnerable Nigerians. He later served as Director of Internal Audit in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), ensuring accountability and transparency at one of the highest levels of government.

Despite his remarkable career, Alhaji Ademola Wasiu Alli (AWA) is not new to politics. For years, he has been a strong but quiet player in Oyo State’s political affairs, offering support, advice, and direction behind the scenes. Those who know him say his calm approach to politics comes from experience and confidence, not from disinterest. Now, after years of working quietly, he is stepping forward, ready to contribute openly and directly to the progress of his people.

Through his AWA Foundation, Alhaji Ademola Wasiu Alli has supported several educational, health, and empowerment initiatives, touching lives across the district. His compassion and commitment to the underprivileged reflect his belief that leadership must always serve humanity.

As the Otun Aare Musulumi of Fiditi Land, he remains grounded in faith, humility, and service.

With his wealth of experience, deep knowledge of governance, and strong connection to the grassroots, Alhaji Ademola Wasiu Alli (AWA) stands ready to serve Oyo Central Senatorial District with a heart of understanding and a mind that knows how things get done.

Ademola Wasiu Alli (AWA) represents a blend of administrative experience, genuine empathy, and the courage to make a difference, the kind of leadership that can truly make government work for the people.
