Akin Alabi’s Intervention Eases Traffic Woes on Adegbayi–Asejire Road

Traffic and accidents have almost disappeared along the Ibadan– Ife Road following the commencement of palliative works initiated under the road reconstruction project of President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, with active intervention and oversight by Hon Akin Alabi, Chairman of the House Committee on Works, Member representing Egbeda/Ona-Ara federal constituency.

Motorists who ply the ever-busy route confirmed that the repairs being carried out from Adegbayi through Onimaalu down to Asejire in Egbeda Ona-Ara federal constituency have eased movement and minimized the dangerous driving patterns previously caused by bad sections of the highway.

Hon Adebowale Amoo, Director General of the Akin Alabi Campaign Organization, said the improvement is already being felt at the constituency level.

“We used to receive distress calls almost every weekend at the Hon Akin Alabi Constituency Office. But since the palliative work commenced from Adegbayi through Onimaalu down to Asejire, the situation has greatly improved. We are far less worried now,” he said.

Amoo commended President Tinubu for giving priority to the reconstruction of the Ibadan–Ife–Ilesa Road, describing the intervention as timely, especially with the festive season approaching.

“We appreciate President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Minister of Works, Engr David Umahi for this timely intervention, especially as we approach the Christmas and New Year festivities,” he added.

As travel activities increase during the yuletide, the Akin Alabi Campaign Organization appeals to road users to remain patient and cooperate with ongoing works on the corridor.

“We call on all road users and travellers heading home for the festive period to kindly exercise patience and bear with us as we continue putting the road in good shape,” the statement said.

The palliative works and reconstruction effort are seen as clear evidence of President Tinubu’s determination to upgrade federal road infrastructure nationwide, with Hon Akin Alabi playing a frontline role in ensuring that the people of Oyo state benefit fully from the initiative.
