AWA Football Competition Lights Up Fiditi as Jagbe FC Emerges Champion
Fiditi was full of excitement yesterday, Thursday, November 27, 2025, as the finals of the Ademola Wasiu Alli (AWA) Football Competition brought the community together in a lively display of unity and sportsmanship. The event, held at Alaafia Oluwa Baptist Primary School, served as a major pre-event activity for the upcoming Fiditi Day celebration on November 29.

The finals drew the attention of key leaders in Afijio. Kabiesi, His Royal Majesty Oba Sakiru Oyewole Adekola Oyelere Ajani Eedu II Agbadewolu I, graced the event, joined by respected personalities such as the President of the Fiditi Progressive Union, Chief Ogundijo Ojediran, former Oyo East Chairman, Alhaji Amuda, former Afijio Chairman, Hon. (Prince) Tunde Ojo 123, and the current Executive Chairman of Afijio Local Government, Hon. Emmanuel Olufemi Aikomo.


The competition, instituted by Alhaji Ademola Wasiu Alli (AWA), a seasoned administrator and 2027 Oyo Central Senatorial aspirant under the All Progressives Congress, was designed to promote unity and give young talents a platform to shine. Over the course of the tournament, teams displayed admirable discipline and determination, capturing the essence of community togetherness that AWA continues to support through various initiatives.
The finals delivered an exciting contest, leading to a well-deserved victory for Jagbe FC, who finished as champions. Egbejoda Quarters secured the second-place position after a spirited performance, while Owode FC clinched third place, showing resilience throughout the tournament. Their achievements reflect the growing strength of grassroots football in Fiditi.

AWA Football Competition has not only strengthened community ties but also reinforced Alhaji Ademola Wasiu Alli’s commitment to youth development and inclusive engagement across Oyo Central.
