Arisekola-Alao Congratulates Akeem Babatunde Abass as New Oyo NUJ Chairman

APC chieftain and former Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola-Alao, has congratulated Akeem Babatunde Abass on his emergence as the new Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Oyo State Council.

In a congratulatory message, Arisekola-Alao described Abass’s elevation as a significant milestone for the journalism community in the state. He praised his dedication, professionalism and long-standing commitment to strengthening ethical and credible journalism.


“Akeem Babatunde Abass has shown unwavering devotion to the progress of the media community in Oyo State. His emergence as Chairman is a welcome development and a reflection of the trust his colleagues have in his experience and leadership qualities.”

He also saluted the outgoing Chairman, Ademola Babalola, who has led the Council since 2019, commending him for his service and for sustaining the union’s dignity during his tenure.

Arisekola-Alao expressed optimism that the new leadership will build on existing achievements and further reposition the Council for excellence.

“I congratulate Akeem Babatunde Abass and wish him a successful tenure. I look forward to seeing the Oyo NUJ attain greater height under his guidance.”

He prayed for continued progress within the union and pledged his support for initiatives that promote responsible journalism and the growth of the media profession in the state.
