Hon Abiodun Gbolagade, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and 2027 aspirant for the House of Representatives seat in Oluyole Federal Constituency, has paid tribute to the late former Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, on the occasion of his 76th posthumous birthday.

In a statement issued to mark the remembrance, Hon Gbolagade described the late governor as a father, mentor, and a quintessential leader who understood leadership and lived it with clarity and purpose, both in governance and partisan politics. He noted that Senator Ajimobi’s years in public service were defined by discipline, courage, and a results driven approach that brought visible transformation to Oyo State.

According to him, the former governor’s tireless efforts in infrastructure development, public sector reforms, security, and urban renewal laid a solid foundation that continues to shape the state’s growth and development. He added that Senator Ajimobi’s influence extended beyond Oyo State, earning him national respect as a statesman whose ideas and policies contributed meaningfully to Nigeria’s democratic journey.

Hon Gbolagade, who served as a state government appointee during Senator Ajimobi’s administration, acknowledged the late governor’s role in giving many young professionals and technocrats the opportunity to serve and contribute to governance. He noted that the exposure and discipline gained under that administration continue to guide his own commitment to public service and community development.

He also paid special tribute to the matriarch of the Ajimobi family, Her Excellency, Dr (Mrs) Florence Ajimobi, commending her for preserving and sustaining the values, principles, and legacies of the late governor.

Hon Gbolagade prayed for the peaceful repose of Senator Ajimobi’s soul and urged the people of Oyo State, especially the younger generation, to continue to draw inspiration from his life of service, integrity, and dedication to the public good.
