Arisekola-Alao Congratulates Olubadan on Emergence as Chairman, Oyo Council of Obas and Chiefs
Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola-Alao, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and 2027 aspirant for Ibadan North Federal Constituency, has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, on his emergence as the Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs.

In a statement, Arisekola-Alao described the development as a historic milestone for Ibadanland and a recognition of the enduring prestige, experience, and leadership stature of the Olubadan stool. He noted that Kabiyesi’s emergence reflects the respect accorded to Ibadan’s traditional institution within Oyo State.


“The emergence of Kabiyesi, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, as Chairman of the Oyo State Council of Obas and Chiefs is a moment of pride for Ibadanland. It affirms the long-standing heritage, influence, and leadership depth of the Olubadan stool in the affairs of our state.”
The former Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Oyo State stated that Oba Rashidi Ladoja’s wealth of experience in public service and traditional leadership places him in a strong position to provide guidance and balance within the council. According to him, Kabiyesi’s leadership is expected to strengthen harmony among traditional rulers and contribute to peace and development across the state.

“Kabiyesi brings to this role a deep understanding of governance, tradition, and consensus building. His leadership will further enhance cooperation among royal fathers and reinforce the role of traditional institutions in supporting stability and progress in Oyo State.”
Arisekola-Alao prayed for wisdom, good health, and strength for the Olubadan as he assumes the new responsibility, while expressing confidence that his tenure will uphold the dignity and unity of the traditional institution.
