Sixty Years of Impact, Fifty Years of Grace: Okanlawon Felicitates Prince Olabiyi Oyekola and Wife

Former Supervisory Councillor of Afijio Local Government, Qaseem Okanlawon, has joined family members, friends, and associates to celebrate Prince (Hon.) Olabiyi Julius Oyekola, FCA, a notable figure in Oyo State politics and an official of the FGN Power Company Limited, as he marks his 60th birthday, alongside the 50th birthday of his wife, Mrs Abisola Olabiyi, PhD, FCA.

Okanlawon described the joint celebration as a moment of gratitude, reflection, and honour for two individuals whose lives, he said, have been defined by discipline, service, and quiet excellence both in public life and within the family.

“Prince Olabiyi Julius Oyekola is not just a public figure; he is a brother and a trusted friend whose life has been shaped by integrity, professionalism, and consistency,” Okanlawon said. “From our shared engagements over the years, I have seen his deep commitment to people, community, and responsibility, even when no one was watching.”

He noted that Prince Oyekola’s journey through public service and professional life reflects a blend of competence and humility, qualities that have earned him respect across political, professional, and social circles in Oyo State and beyond.

Speaking on Mrs Abisola Olabiyi, Okanlawon praised her as a woman of substance whose academic and professional accomplishments complement her role as a pillar of support within the family.

“Mrs Abisola Olabiyi represents strength, intellect, and balance. Her achievements as a scholar and professional are inspiring, yet she carries them with grace and modesty. Together, they exemplify partnership, purpose, and shared values.”
Hon Okanlawon added that celebrating Prince Oyekola at 60 and his wife at 50 goes beyond marking ages, describing it as a celebration of lives that have positively touched many people through mentorship, counsel, and consistent goodwill.

“I sincerely pray that God grants Prince Olabiyi Julius Oyekola continued good health, peace, and fulfilment, with many more years of meaningful contribution to humanity. For Mrs Abisola Olabiyi, I pray that this new year of her life be filled with joy, calm strength, and renewed grace. May their home continue to be blessed with love, understanding, and lasting happiness.”
