‎Hon Ogunkeye Kayode Leads Mass Defection to APC in Olorunsogo, Pledges Support for Renewed Hope Agenda

A former Supervisory Councilor in Olorunsogo Local Government, Hon. Ogunkeye Kayode, has officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress, alongside members of his political team and supporters.

‎The decampees were formally received at the local government party secretariat by the APC Local Government Party Chairman, Hon. Sikiru Ibrahim, amid a gathering of party leaders and faithful.

‎Hon. Ogunkeye Kayode led the delegation with his team leaders, including Hon. Saliu Modibo and Hon. Simiat Kareem, who jointly affirmed their decision to align with the APC and its vision for governance at all levels.


‎Speaking on behalf of the decampees, Hon. Ogunkeye Kayode stated that their decision was driven by a desire to be part of a political platform committed to inclusive governance, development, and progressive leadership. He assured party leaders of their total loyalty to the APC and pledged their readiness to work diligently to strengthen the party’s structure at the grassroots.

The decampees further declared their full support for the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the agenda reflects their shared aspirations for economic stability, improved welfare, and sustainable development across the country. They emphasized their commitment to mobilizing support for the party and its leadership in advancing these goals within Olorunsogo Local Government and Oyo State at large.

In his remarks, Hon. Sikiru Ibrahim welcomed the new members, describing their defection as a significant boost to the APC in the local government. He assured them of equal opportunities within the party and called for unity and collective effort toward achieving electoral success and effective governance.

‎Other APC leaders present at the event included Hon. Rasaq Raji, Hon. Raheem Oyebisi, Hon. Wasiu Olatunbosun Ejo, Hon. Bosun Oladele, and Hon. Hameed Ayinla, all of whom expressed confidence that the new entrants would contribute meaningfully to the growth and cohesion of the party.

The event concluded with renewed assurances of collaboration, as party leaders and the decampees reiterated their shared resolve to advance the ideals of the APC and deliver responsive leadership to the people of Olorunsogo Local Government.
