AWA Mourns Pa Sunday Adejare Elegbede, Describes His Passing as a Great Loss to Afijio and Oyo APC
Dr. Ademola Wasiu Alli (AWA), a seasoned administrator and frontline aspirant for the Oyo Central Senatorial seat under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed profound condolences to the progressive family in Afijio Local Government and across Oyo State following the passing of Pa Sunday Adejare Elegbede.

In a statement made available to the press, AWA described the late Pa Elegbede as a committed progressive whose life was devoted to the growth and stability of the party at the grassroots and beyond. He noted that the deceased played a significant role in strengthening the progressive structure in Afijio Local Government through years of dedication, loyalty, and service.

Reflecting on their personal relationship, AWA stated that beyond politics, Pa Elegbede was a father figure and a source of wise counsel. He added that their bond, built over time within and outside the political space, made the loss deeply personal.
“I received the news of the passing of Pa Sunday Adejare Elegbede with deep sorrow. As someone from Afijio Local Government, I had the privilege of knowing him closely. He was not only a committed progressive but also a man of integrity whose contributions to our party and community will not be forgotten,” AWA said.

He further noted that the late elder statesman’s legacy of discipline, humility, and unwavering commitment to progressive ideals would continue to inspire both current and future generations of party faithful.
“While his passing leaves a void, we must find comfort in the values he stood for and the legacy he left behind. May Almighty God grant him eternal rest and give his family and all of us the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”
