‎Barr Akeem Agbaje Celebrates Palm Sunday with Christians, Encourages Love and Sacrifice

Barr. Akeem Adedeji Agbaje, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and 2027 gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State, has extended warm greetings to Christians in Oyo State and across Nigeria on the occasion of Palm Sunday.

In a statement released to mark the beginning of the Holy Week, Agbaje described Palm Sunday as a significant moment in the Christian faith, symbolising humility, sacrifice, and the triumph of peace.


‎He noted that the commemoration serves as a reminder of the values exemplified by Jesus Christ, particularly selflessness, compassion, and unwavering faith, which remain essential in fostering unity and harmony within society.

‎“Palm Sunday offers a time for reflection on the virtues of humility, peace, and sacrifice. These values are not only central to the Christian faith but are also important in building a more just and united society.”

‎He urged Christians to use the solemn period of the Holy Week for spiritual reflection, prayer, and renewed commitment to the ideals of love, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence.

Barr Akeem Agbaje further called on residents of Oyo State and Nigerians at large to embrace the message of hope and reconciliation that the season represents, noting that collective efforts rooted in faith and understanding are vital for national progress.

‎“As we mark this sacred season, I encourage all faithful to continue to pray for our state and nation, and to remain steadfast in promoting unity, peace, and mutual respect in our communities,” he added.

‎He wished Christians a peaceful and fulfilling observance of the Holy Week, expressing hope that the lessons of the season would inspire greater commitment to service and humanity.
