Palm Sunday: Asukuna Urges Faith, Sacrifice, and National Renewal
Hon. Ikumogunniyi Biodun Asukuna, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State and House of Representatives aspirant for Ibadan South West and Ibadan North West Federal Constituency, has extended warm greetings to Christians across the state and beyond on the occasion of Palm Sunday.

In a statement released on Sunday, Hon. Asukuna described Palm Sunday as a significant moment in the Christian calendar, symbolizing humility, sacrifice, and the triumph of faith. He noted that the commemoration of the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem serves as a reminder of the values of peace, love, and selfless service.

He urged Christians to reflect deeply on the lessons of the season and to embrace the virtues of compassion, patience, and unity in their daily interactions, particularly at a time when the nation requires collective commitment to peace and progress.
“Palm Sunday offers us an opportunity to renew our faith and recommit ourselves to the ideals of love, sacrifice, and service to humanity,” he said. “I encourage our Christian brothers and sisters to use this sacred period to pray for our communities, our leaders, and our nation, trusting God for guidance and progress.”

The APC chieftain further called on residents of Oyo State and Nigerians at large to uphold peaceful coexistence and mutual respect across religious and social lines, emphasizing that unity remains essential to sustainable development.
Hon. Asukuna concluded by wishing Christians a peaceful Palm Sunday celebration and a spiritually fulfilling Easter season, expressing hope that the period would usher in renewed strength, harmony, and progress for individuals, communities, and the nation at large.
