Hon. Ademola Solalu, a veteran journalist and respected chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, has congratulated Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola Alao on his recognition as an Icon of Ibadan Heritage by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII).

In a statement, the former Special Assistant on Information to late Governor Abiola Ajimobi described the honour as a fitting acknowledgement of Arisekola Alao’s contributions to the advancement of Ibadanland, noting that the recognition reflects both his personal commitment and the enduring legacy of his family.

He stated that the award not only celebrates Arisekola Alao’s growing influence and service but also serves as a reminder of the lasting impact of his late father, Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Alao, whose dedication to Ibadan remains widely respected.

“This recognition by the CCII is well deserved. It speaks to the commitment of Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola Alao to the growth and development of Ibadanland. It also brings to mind the enduring legacy of his late father, Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Arisekola Alao, whose contributions to the city remain significant and respected.”

He added that the honour affirms that Arisekola Alao is continuing on the path of service and responsibility, upholding values that have long been associated with his family.

Hon. Solalu also noted that Arisekola Alao’s aspiration to represent Ibadan North Federal Constituency is a positive development, describing it as a reflection of his readiness to contribute more directly to public service.

“His aspiration to represent Ibadan North Federal Constituency is commendable. It shows a willingness to serve and to further contribute to the progress of the people. With his background and commitment, there is confidence that he will offer quality representation,” he added.
