UP SHOOTING: Arisekola Alao Congratulates Shooting Stars on CAF Confederation Cup Qualification After 27 Years

Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola Alao, APC candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency and former Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Oyo State, has congratulated the management, players, technical crew, supporters, and the entire family of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) over the club’s qualification for the CAF Confederation Cup after 27 years.

‎In a congratulatory message, Arisekola Alao described the achievement as a historic and emotional moment for football lovers in Oyo State and beyond, noting that the return of the Oluyole Warriors to continental football reflects resilience, determination, and sustained commitment by everyone connected to the club.


He stated that the qualification is not only a victory for the club but also a source of pride for Ibadanland and Oyo State, considering the rich football history and legacy associated with Shooting Stars Sports Club.

“The qualification of Shooting Stars Sports Club for the CAF Confederation Cup after 27 years is a moment of joy and pride for all lovers of football, especially supporters of the Oluyole Warriors. This achievement reflects hard work, resilience, and commitment from the management, players, technical crew, and supporters who kept believing in the club.”

‎Arisekola Alao, who served as Commissioner for Youth and Sports in Oyo State, noted that the desire to see Shooting Stars return to continental relevance has existed for years among stakeholders and supporters of the club.

‎“Shooting Stars remains one of the most historic football clubs in Nigeria, and seeing the team return to continental competition after many years is truly heartwarming. I congratulate everyone who contributed to making this possible and encourage the team to continue striving for greater success.”

He  charged supporters and stakeholders to continue supporting the club as preparations begin for continental engagements, expressing optimism that the Oluyole Warriors would make Oyo State and Nigeria proud on the African stage.
