Oyo State Workers Unions Gear Up for Showdown with Seyi Makinde: State-Wide Protest Set for July 31st
Workers unions in Oyo State are gearing up for a confrontation with the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, expressing their discontent over the delay in receiving their salary deductions arrears and the demand for the prompt payment of their full salaries.
The matter was deliberated upon during a crucial meeting held by the Oyo State Chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) at the Union’s secretariat in Ibadan.
Following the meeting, it was unanimously decided that all Oyo State workers should assemble at the Governor’s office on Monday, July 31st, to partake in a state-wide protest.
In light of this planned protest, all offices and schools are to remain closed, with the Zonal union leaders entrusted to sensitize their members about the event.
Members unable to attend the gathering at the Oyo State Secretariat are to stay off duty and await further instructions from the unions.
