Barr. Akeem Adedeji Agbaje, frontline gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State for the 2027 election, has felicitated with the Muslim Ummah in Oyo State, Nigeria, and across the world on the occasion of the Islamic New Year, Hijrah 1448 AH.

‎In a goodwill message, Barr Akeem Agbaje described the commencement of a new Islamic year as a period for reflection, gratitude, renewed faith, and commitment to the values of righteousness, sacrifice, peaceful coexistence, and service to humanity.

He noted that the significance of Hijrah lies in its lessons of perseverance, hope, courage, and trust in Almighty Allah, urging Muslims to draw inspiration from these enduring values as they navigate personal, communal, and national challenges.

“The beginning of Hijrah 1448 is another opportunity to thank Almighty Allah for His mercy and blessings upon us. It is also a time to renew our commitment to faith, unity, compassion, and service to one another. I urge the Muslim Ummah to continue praying for peace, security, development, and prosperity in Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.”

The APC chieftain further called on citizens to remain steadfast in promoting harmony and mutual understanding among people of different faiths and backgrounds, stressing that collective efforts are essential to building a more peaceful and prosperous society.

‎Barr Akeem Agbaje also used the occasion to offer prayers for the safe return of the abductees in Ahoro-Esinle, expressing hope that ongoing efforts by security agencies would yield positive results.

“As we celebrate the Islamic New Year, I also remember the abducted persons in Ahoro-Esinle and their families in my prayers. May Almighty Allah grant them protection, ensure their safe return, and comfort their loved ones during this difficult period.”

May this new Islamic year bring renewed hope, prosperity, and greater opportunities to our families, Oyo State, and Nigeria.
