Bode Market Fire: Arisekola Alao Sympathises with Victims, Calls for Support for Affected Traders

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency, Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola-Alao, has expressed deep sympathy to traders and business owners affected by the devastating fire incident that ravaged sections of the popular Bode Market in Ibadan in the early hours of Friday.

In a statement, Arisekola Alao described the incident as a painful setback for hundreds of hardworking traders and entrepreneurs whose daily livelihoods depend on the market. He noted that beyond the destruction of goods and property, the fire has disrupted the means of sustenance for many families who rely on their businesses to meet their daily needs.

The APC candidate said he was saddened by the magnitude of the destruction and the emotional and financial losses suffered by the victims. He urged the affected traders not to lose hope, expressing confidence that with collective support and timely intervention, they would recover from the unfortunate incident.

Arisekola Alao appealed to the Oyo State Government, relevant emergency management agencies, corporate organisations, and well-meaning Nigerians to provide immediate relief and necessary assistance to those affected in order to ease their burden and help them rebuild their businesses as quickly as possible.

He also commended the personnel of the Oyo State Fire Service, other emergency responders, security agencies, and volunteers whose prompt intervention helped contain the inferno and prevent further destruction.

‎Praying for strength and comfort for the victims, Arisekola Alao expressed hope that the affected traders would soon regain their footing and return to their businesses, reaffirming the importance of supporting local entrepreneurs whose resilience contributes significantly to the economic growth of Ibadan and Oyo State.
