Ibadan North 2027: Hausa Community Welcomes Arisekola Alao, Pledges Support

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola-Alao, has continued his grassroots consultations ahead of the election with a meeting with members of the Sabo Youth Charity Foundation, where members of the Hausa community expressed their support for his candidacy.

The meeting formed part of the ongoing consultation and thank you tour by Arisekola-Alao across Ibadan North and provided an opportunity for the APC candidate to engage directly with members of the Hausa community, seek their support, and strengthen the longstanding relationship between the community and the Arisekola-Alao family.

‎The Sabo Youth Charity Foundation, led by its Chairman, Alhaji Danlami, Secretary, Alhaji Shagari, and Alhaji Ibrahim Olu, received Arisekola-Alao and listened to his plans and aspirations for the constituency. In their remarks, members of the community spoke about the enduring relationship between the Hausa community and the Arisekola-Alao family, which they said dates back several decades to the time of the late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta, Alhaji Abdul-Azeez Arisekola-Alao.

The community members recalled the late Aare Musulumi’s relationship with and contributions to the Hausa community, describing the bond as one built on mutual respect, friendship, goodwill, and shared interests. They said the relationship has continued across generations and expressed their willingness to sustain it by supporting the political aspiration of Umar Farouk Arisekola-Alao.

‎Speaking during the meeting, Arisekola Alao expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the foundation for the warm reception and for the longstanding relationship between the community and his family. He solicited their support and cooperation as he seeks to represent Ibadan North in the House of Representatives, assuring them that his proposed representation would be inclusive and responsive to the interests of all residents.

The APC candidate said his consultations were not solely about seeking votes but also about listening to different communities, understanding their concerns, and strengthening relationships across the constituency. He assured the Hausa community that, if elected, he would represent every resident fairly and work to promote initiatives that would improve the wellbeing and economic opportunities of the people.

Responding to the appeal, the leadership and members of the Sabo Youth Charity Foundation pledged their support for the 2027 mandate of Umar Farouk Arisekola-Alao. They expressed confidence in his capacity to provide effective representation and assured him of their readiness to mobilise support for his candidacy within the Hausa community.

‎The engagement is part of the wider consultation and thank you tour being undertaken by Umar Farouk across Ibadan North as preparations for the 2027 general election gather momentum. The consultations are expected to continue across other wards and communities in the constituency in the coming days.
