Ibadan North 2027: Arisekola Alao Addresses Water, Lighting Needs, Commits to People-Centred Representation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola-Alao, has continued to demonstrate his commitment to addressing the specific needs of residents with the sinking of boreholes at Adewunmi Street, Agbowo, Ward 12, and the mounting of solar-powered street lights in Federal Housing Estate, Ikolaba and the wider Ikolaba community.

The interventions, according to Arisekola Alao, are driven by the need to respond to practical challenges confronting residents and demonstrate that effective leadership must be connected to the everyday realities of the people. He noted that access to potable water and adequate street lighting are basic community needs that can significantly improve the quality of life and security of residents.

The on-going borehole project at Adewunmi Street, Agbowo, is expected to provide residents with improved access to water, while the solar street lighting project across Federal Housing Estate, Ikolaba and surrounding communities is aimed at improving visibility at night and contributing to safer and more vibrant neighbourhoods.

Speaking on the interventions, Arisekola Alao said his approach to public service is centred on listening to the people, identifying their immediate needs and taking practical steps towards addressing them. He stressed that his aspiration to represent Ibadan North in the House of Representatives is founded on a clear understanding of the responsibility that comes with public office.

“Leadership is about the people and their needs. When we listen to our communities, we understand that sometimes what matters most is not complicated. It could be access to clean water, adequate lighting, support for young people or other interventions that directly improve daily life. My commitment is to remain close to the people and ensure that their concerns receive the attention they deserve.”

‎The APC candidate said the interventions form part of his broader commitment to people-centred leadership, adding that his experience in public service has strengthened his understanding of the importance of responsive representation. He assured residents that his candidacy represents a determination to bring purposeful engagement, practical solutions and effective representation to Ibadan North.

Hon Umar Farouk Arisekola Alao further called on residents and APC faithful across the constituency to support his candidacy, promising to continue engaging communities and identifying areas where meaningful interventions can make a difference as his objective remains to build an Ibadan North where representation is measured not only by words but by tangible impact on the lives of the people.
