Hon. Dr. Lukman Akanbi, popularly known as AKDOLLAR, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibadan South East Local Government Area of Oyo State, has expressed deep sadness over the death of former Deputy Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Prof. Isiaka Kolawole.

Prof. Kolawole died on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at a hospital in Abuja after a period of illness.
‎In a condolence message, AKDOLLAR described the deceased as a leader, principal and mentor whose influence played a significant role in his political journey and development.

According to him, the late professor was not only a respected administrator and public servant but also a leader who deliberately created opportunities for others to grow and contribute meaningfully to public service.

“Prof. Isiaka Kolawole was my leader and principal. He made me see political limelight and opened doors that shaped my journey in public service. I will remain grateful for the confidence he reposed in me.”

“He was the first person to nominate me for positions in government. That singular act of confidence and many other contributions he made to my growth will remain indelible in my memory.”

‎AKDOLLAR also paid tribute to Prof. Kolawole’s contribution to human capital development, noting that his impact extended beyond the positions he occupied in government.

“His contribution to human capital development was obvious. He was an administrator and public servant of note, and his legacy will live on through the people and institutions he influenced.”

“May Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his deeds as ibadah, grant him Al-Jannah Firdaus and give his family, friends and associates the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”
