Ibadan North 2027: Farouk Arisekola Unveils Development Agenda, Promises Opportunities for Youths, Women and Artisans

‎The All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Ibadan North Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Hon. Umar Farouk Arisekola-Alao, has pledged to pursue a people-centred legislative agenda focused on job opportunities, education, healthcare, infrastructure and economic empowerment, assuring residents that their needs would remain central to his representation if elected.

Farouk Arisekola made the commitment during the official flag-off of his 2027 House of Representatives campaign at Police Barracks Open Field, Yemetu, Ibadan, where he declared that his aspiration was driven by a desire to serve the people and provide accessible, responsive and accountable representation.

Reflecting on his journey, which began in 2015, the APC candidate said his determination to represent Ibadan North had remained firm despite previous disappointments. He described his emergence as the party’s candidate as a renewed responsibility to work for the constituency and give its people a stronger voice at the National Assembly.

A major proposal in his agenda is the establishment of a National Job Centre, subject to the necessary legislative and institutional processes, to connect job seekers with legitimate vacancies, career information, training programmes and employers without relying on political connections. He also pledged to support educational opportunities, youth skills development, women’s empowerment and initiatives to strengthen small businesses and artisans.

‎On infrastructure and community development, Umar Farouk promised to pursue constituency projects based on residents’ identified needs, including water supply, electricity, roads, drainage, sanitation and educational facilities. He also outlined plans to promote healthcare access and maintain an accessible constituency office where residents could present concerns, obtain information and engage with their representative.

‎“Representation must remain connected to the people. I am not standing before you to tell you that I know everything. I am here to tell you that I am ready to listen, ready to learn, ready to work and ready to represent you,” he said, promising to establish mechanisms for receiving feedback and monitoring constituency interventions.

Farouk Arisekola appealed to residents of Ibadan North to support his aspiration, assuring them of his commitment to building a constituency where every ward and community matters and where representation is measured by accessibility, accountability and tangible results.

‎“My message is simple: let us put Ibadan North first, put service above self and development above empty promises,” he said, expressing confidence that collective effort and purposeful engagement could help create better opportunities for the constituency.
