BREAKING: Senate Confirms Opeyemi Bamidele and Others as Principal Officers
Senator Opeyemi Bamidele representing Ekiti Central Senatorial District has been announced as the Senate Leader designate by the All Progressives Congress.
The Principal Officers for the 10th Senate have been officially confirmed by the Nigerian Senate. The announcement was made by Senator Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, at the start of Tuesday’s plenary session, following the return of his colleagues to the chamber after the Sallah holiday.
The ruling All Progressives Congress has approved the following individuals for the respective positions: Opeyemi Bamidele from Ekiti Central, Southwest, as the Senate Leader; Dave Umahi from Ebonyi South, Southeast, as the Senate Deputy Leader; Ali Ndume from Borno South, Northeast, as the Senate Chief Whip; and Lola Ashiru from Kwara South, Northcentral, as the Senate Deputy Chief Whip.
With the confirmation of these principal officers, the Nigerian Senate is poised to proceed with its legislative duties and responsibilities in the 10th Senate.
