Ejikeme Mmesoma: JAMB denounces falsified UTME result, imposes three year ban.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has unequivocally dismissed the purported Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) result presented by Ejikeme Mmesoma, labeling it as “blatantly fake.” In a firm statement, JAMB assured the public that its system remained untampered with and uncompromised. The board revealed that Mmesoma had merely counterfeited a copy of a result slip belonging to a candidate named “Asimiyu Mariam Omobolanle,” who had obtained a score of 138 in the 2021 UTME.

According to JAMB, Ejikeme manually inflated her UTME result from 249 to 362 in order to secure a scholarship worth N3 million from Innoson Motors.

However, Mmesoma, who allegedly took the exam in Anambra State, vehemently denied forging her result in a video released on Monday, stating, “I am traumatized that they accused me of forging my results because I’m not capable of forging my result.”

In response, JAMB’s spokesperson, Benjamin Fabian, asserted on Tuesday morning that the video was evidently staged and argued that Mmesoma inadvertently exposed the true owner of the result she paraded. Fabian stated that the QR code on the result slip displayed the actual owner’s information before Mmesoma distorted the truth. The board further clarified that it discontinued issuing Notification of Result slips after the 2021 UTME due to candidates falsifying them. Instead, since 2022, JAMB has provided authentic UTME RESULT Slips complete with each candidate’s photograph.

To confirm the irrefutable position of the Board concerning this blatant falsehood, the public is urged to scan the QR code on the result slip to verify its actual owner before it was manipulated, emphasized JAMB. The board clarified that the QR code encompasses the UTME result of each candidate, indicating that the information on the result sheet is derived solely from this code. JAMB also invited the public to reflect upon the fact that out of all the candidates who took the 2023 UTME, only Ms. Ejikeme Mmesoma is presenting the outdated

“Notification of Result.” The board expressed its unwavering resolve in the face of this regrettable situation, highlighting that similar fraudulent claims have been made before. Nigerians are urged to recall previous instances where the Board faced billion-naira lawsuits, only for the lawyers to subsequently issue profound apologies for their clients’ misguided actions.

The case has been handed over to relevant security agencies for a thorough investigation to uncover the masterminds behind the falsified result. Meanwhile, based on the severity of the infraction committed by Ejikeme Joy Mmesoma, JAMB’s management has invalidated her 2023 UTME result and barred her from participating in the board’s examinations for the next three years.
