In a recent statement, the Sultanate Council has officially declared the first day of MUHARRAM 1445H in Nigeria. The announcement was made after the council confirmed the absence of any positive sighting reports of the crescent moon.

As a result, the Islamic New Year will commence on Wednesday, 19th July 2023, in accordance with the Islamic lunar calendar.
