New NPFL Board Unveiled: Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye Appointed Chairman to Lead Two-Year Tenure

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced the establishment of a new board for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), effectively dissolving the previous Interim Management Committee (IMC).
Leading the newly constituted board is Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye, who previously served as the IMC chairman. This move marks a pivotal moment for the NPFL as it aims to chart a fresh course under the guidance of experienced leadership.
The newly formed NPFL board is geared to serve a two-year tenure, during which it will strive to enhance the league’s overall growth and development. Comprising individuals with diverse expertise and experience, the board boasts members such as Mallam Mohammed Nasiru Sa’idu, Barr. Poubeni Ogun, Mr. Daniel Amokachi, Dr. Okey Kpalukwu, Mallam Suleiman Umar, and Mr. Dominic Iorfa. Together, this team aims to steer Nigerian football towards greater heights and create a more competitive and engaging environment for players, clubs, and fans alike.
Heading the legal and administrative affairs of the board is Barr. Danlami Ibrahim, who serves as the Secretary/Legal Adviser. Meanwhile, Prince Davidson Owumi has been appointed as the Chief Operating Officer (COO), responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the NPFL.
