Skimeh, Adelabu Collaborate with First Lady to Drive Change in Nigeria’s Agriculture and Power Sectors
The Chairman of the House Committee on Agriculture, Hon. Akeem Adeyemi, and the Minister of Power, Bayo Adelabu, paid a courtesy visit to Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, at the Presidential Villa in Aso Rock on Thursday.
The two leaders met with the First Lady to discuss the state of agriculture and power in Nigeria.
They also discussed the role that the First Lady’s pet project, the Renewed Hope Initiative, can play in improving the lives of women and children in Nigeria.
Adeyemi said that the House Committee on Agriculture is committed to working with the First Lady to improve the lives of farmers in Nigeria. He said that the committee is working on a bill that will provide financial assistance to farmers and make it easier for them to access markets for their produce.
Bayo Adelabu said that the Ministry of Power is working to improve the power supply in Nigeria. He said that the ministry is investing in new power plants and transmission lines.
The First Lady thanked the two leaders for their visit and their commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians. She said that she is confident that they will be able to make a difference in the lives of farmers and businesses in Nigeria.
The courtesy visit was part of the First Lady’s efforts to engage with stakeholders in different sectors of the economy.
The First Lady has been meeting with leaders from the business, agriculture, and education sectors in recent months.
