Nigeria has Lost a Loud Voice – Agbaje Mourns Legendary Poet, Olanrewaju Adepoju
Ibadan based politician, Barrister Akeem Agbaje has joined scores of people to mourn the death of veteran poet, music producer, and Yoruba culture promoter, Chief Olanrewaju Adepoju.
“Indeed Nigeria has lost loud voice. Baba Adepoju was a great man, patriot and a true advocate of the Yoruba culture. His use of the language was unique, deep and explosive. If we are talking about those that fought fiercely for the democracy we enjoy today, baba looms large. He fought military rule to a standstill through his songs, poems and renditions.
Every death is a tragedy and Baba’s own is definitely a huge one. He would be sorely missed. For his unique use of the Yoruba Language to convey messages with deep meanings. His zeal and tenacity to see a better country makes an uncommon patriot.
The All Progressives’ Congress (APC) chieftain prayed for the repose of his soul and Almighty Allah’s comfort on his family and loved ones.
