Electorates Resist Intimidation

This newspaper has reliably gathered that the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has deployed leaders of the Parks Management System (PMS), led by their chairman, Mr. Tomiwa Omolewa, popularly known as Tommy, and several thugs to Saki town ahead of the rerun elections on Saturday.

This, as reliably gathered, is to intimidate voters and manipulate the outcomes of the election.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has fixed Saturday, February 3, for the return elections, which covered two units of Saki West State Constituency.

One of the electorates who pleaded anonymity maintained that it is no longer a rumour that “Governor Makinde has deployed thugs to intimidate voters in Saki,” and he reiterated that the electorates are fully aware of their antics and totally prepared to resist their intimidation intellectually and lawfully.

“We are peace-loving people, and also, we’re warriors, by His Grace, no oppressor that can suppress us or intimidate us to go against our wills,” he stated.
