Oyo APC Chairman Omodewu Debunks Health Rumors: Vows Legal Action Against False Claims
Amidst swirling rumours and speculations regarding the state of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, the party’s chairman, Isaac Omodewu, has made a definitive statement to dispel false narratives. Contrary to reports alleging that the party is in disarray following the 2023 governorship election and that the chairman has been in a coma in the United States since December 2023, Omodewu has confirmed that he is in good health.
This morning, our source spoke directly with Chairman Isaac Omodewu, who categorically refuted the rumors about his health. He assured party members and the public that he is hale and hearty, continuing his duties with vigor and commitment. “I am in good health and fully capable of leading our great party,” Omodewu stated. “The rumors about my health are completely unfounded and have no basis in reality.”
Omodewu addressed the origin of these rumors, identifying Ademola Adegbite as the author of the misleading information. He warned that Adegbite would face legal consequences if an unreserved apology is not tendered promptly. “The author of these mischievous reports, Ademola Adegbite, will have his day in court if he does not issue an unreserved apology,” Omodewu declared.
Omodewu’s statement is crucial in maintaining the integrity and unity of the APC in Oyo State. Despite the investigations and assertions from various sources, including a report by The PUNCH, party leaders and elders have remained steadfast in their commitment to the party’s strength and stability. Claims that the National Secretariat in Abuja was considering dissolving the party to reinforce its structure have also been addressed.
The Public Relations Officer for the party, Wale Sadare, had previously acknowledged that the chairman was indisposed and had been out of the country since November of the previous year. However, this has now been clarified with Omodewu’s direct affirmation of his well-being. “I have been out of the country for personal reasons, but I am not indisposed as claimed,” Omodewu clarified.
The All Progressives Congress in Oyo State remains united and resolute. The leadership is focused on strengthening the party’s foundation and preparing for future endeavours.
Rumour mongers will never die well.
