President Tinubu Mourns the Passing of Justice Emmanuel Olayinka Ayoola

President Bola Tinubu has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of Justice Emmanuel Olayinka Ayoola, CON, a retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria and a former Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC). The late jurist, a distinguished native of Ilesha, Osun State, was renowned for his exemplary service to the judiciary both within and beyond Nigeria’s borders.
In a press release made public by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, President Tinubu extended his heartfelt condolences to the Ayoola family, acknowledging the immense loss felt by both the family and the nation at large.
The President paid tribute to Justice Ayoola’s outstanding career, underscoring his service as Justice of the Court of Appeal of the Gambia from 1980 to 1983, his subsequent appointment as Chief Justice of the Gambia from 1983 to 1992, his role as President of the Court of Appeals of Seychelles, and his tenure as Justice of the Court of Appeal of Nigeria from 1992 to 1998.
President Tinubu commended the late Justice Ayoola for his unwavering integrity, courage, and dedication to the pursuit of justice. He stressed that the jurist’s legacy would be remembered not only for his brilliant legal mind and impeccable jurisprudential knowledge but also for the discipline and rare principles he upheld throughout his distinguished career.
The President also extended his sympathies to Justice Ayoola’s associates and the broader Nigerian judicial community, recognizing the profound impact of his passing on all who had the honor of working with him.
