PYF Mourns Chief Michael Koleoso, Hails His Legacy as a Progressive Leader
The Progressives Yes Forum (PYF) has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Chief Michael Koleoso, a respected progressive leader and former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) in Oyo State.
In a statement signed by Comrade Wole Abisoye, Chairman of PYF, and Engr. Fawole Taiwo G, Secretary, the forum joined the people of Oyo State and Nigeria in mourning the passing of a figure who left an indelible mark on the progressive movement.
Describing Chief Koleoso as a “towering progressive leader,” the forum underscored his unwavering commitment to the ideals of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, which he upheld throughout his life.
According to the statement, Koleoso played a pivotal role in nurturing the PYF from its early days, alongside late Alhaji Lam Adesina, ensuring that the values of justice, equity, and the welfare of the people remained central to the group’s cause.
“Chief Koleoso was not just a political figure; he was a pillar of progressivism, a silent yet powerful protector of Awolowo’s legacy, and a father figure to the PYF,” the statement read.
The forum praised his humility, wisdom, and dedication to the common man, qualities that set him apart as a leader of remarkable depth and integrity.
While mourning the loss of Chief Koleoso, PYF also celebrated his life as one marked by selfless service and dedication to the betterment of society. The forum acknowledged the immense void his passing has created but affirmed that his legacy will continue to inspire the next generation of progressive leaders.
