75th POSTHUMOUS BIRTHDAY: Though He Is No Longer With Us, His Impact Endures – Akin Alabi Pays Tribute to Ajimobi

In a statement issued by Akin Alabi’s media aide, Hameed Mustapha Ramadan, the lawmaker paid tribute to the late Governor Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi on the occasion of his posthumous 75th birthday, December 16, 2024.
Member representing Egbeda/Ona Ara Federal Constituency in Oyo State, Chairman house committee on works, Hon. Akin Alabi, described Ajimobi as a visionary leader whose contributions to the development of Oyo State remain invaluable. He reflected on the profound impact Ajimobi’s leadership had on the state’s infrastructure, security, and education, which continues to benefit the people of Oyo State today.



“Today, my leader, the architect of modern Oyo State, Sen. Isiaka Abiola Ajimobi would have been 75. Great leader, we miss your leadership, boldness, fearlessness, finesse, banters, and excellence. Thank you for the role you played in my life. Rest in Peace,” said Hon. Akin Alabi in his tribute.
Ajimobi, who served as Governor of Oyo State from 2011 to 2019, is remembered for his efforts in modernizing the state’s infrastructure and initiating transformative policies that laid the foundation for future growth. Under his leadership, the state witnessed improvements in road networks, urban renewal, and security, as well as a strong push for educational reforms.

Akin Alabi also noted the mentorship and political guidance he received from Ajimobi, highlighting the late governor’s pivotal role in shaping the direction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State. “Governor Ajimobi was more than just a political leader; he was a mentor and a friend. His support was instrumental in my political journey, and I will forever be grateful for his guidance.”
The statement concluded by extending deepest condolences to Ajimobi’s family, friends, and the people of Oyo State. “Though he is no longer with us, his impact endures. Today, we remember and celebrate the life of a great man whose dedication to public service will always inspire future generations.”
