Oyo 2027: I’m Development-Minded, Will Light Up Oke-Ogun in Six Months — Agbaje

A legal luminary and chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Barrister Akeem Agbaje, has described himself as a development-minded politician with the intention and capability to power Oyo State within a short period, particularly the Oke-Ogun zone of the state blessed with enormous agro-industrial potentials, https://dejoymedia.online reported.

This was disclosed in his Oke Ado, Ibadan office on Wednesday in an interactive session with newsmen, revealing that he has all it takes to take urbanisation and prosperity through the provision of critical infrastructure such as power, roads, rail links, and dry ports, among others, to the Oke-Ogun zone of the state.

According to him, despite his being a legal practitioner, he possesses deep technical know-how about power generation and transmission in which he has been involved with a few state governments in the past over a decade. This is premised on his belief that for any meaningful development to occur, the power sector remains the bedrock through which micro agro-based industrial hubs can spring up in the region, providing gainful employment for the teeming youths, particularly the artisans, thus taking them off okada riding to more productive and respectable trades and employment.

Agbaje lamented over the state of the FGN–conceived and later abandoned Ikere Gorge Dam, for which he prescribed, in the first instance, provision of access road to the site by any serious state government, and thereafter exploring other options for its multi-dimensional potentials to be realised for the benefits of the various communities.
