Army Chief Demands Resilience in Tackling Security Challenges

The Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, has urged troops of the Nigerian Army to remain steadfast in addressing the country’s evolving security threats to foster peace and national development.
General Oluyede made this call during the opening ceremony of a four-day Senior Command and Leadership Seminar in Lafia, the Nasarawa State capital. The seminar is designed to strengthen the capacity of senior military officers, equipping them with strategic insights and operational skills necessary to uphold the integrity of the Nigerian Army in an increasingly complex security landscape.


Represented by the Chief of Training, Army Headquarters, Major General Abubakar Sadiq Ndalolo, the Chief of Army Staff emphasised the need for continuous troop engagement, particularly among frontline commanders overseeing critical operations.
“Soldiers on the frontline must build synergy and develop effective communication skills to confront security threats head-on,” Major General Ndalolo stated.
The Commander of the 4 Special Forces Command, Doma, Major General Hilary Nzan, reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to safeguarding all parts of the country.
“We remain dedicated to securing the nation through continuous capacity development of our troops,” he assured.
In his remarks, Nasarawa State Governor, represented by Deputy Governor Dr. Emmanuel Akabe, commended the Nigerian Army for its relentless fight against crime and unwavering efforts in maintaining national unity.
“The military’s role in safeguarding lives and property is commendable. We encourage stronger collaboration with local communities to enhance intelligence gathering and information sharing,” Akabe said.
The seminar, themed “Enhancing Operational Level Command and Leadership Within a Joint Environment,” brought together key stakeholders, including military officials and traditional rulers such as the Andoma of Doma, Alhaji Aliyu Onawo Ogah.
A major highlight of the event was the presentation of souvenirs to distinguished guests in recognition of their contributions to national security.
