I Am Made in APC, by APC, and for APC — Gov Nasir Idris Dismisses Defection Rumours

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has firmly debunked reports circulating on social media suggesting he and four other governors are plotting to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to join a new coalition allegedly being formed by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and other political figures.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, the Governor described the reports as false, malicious, and a “huge joke cracked by the most uninteresting political comedians.”

Governor Idris stated that ordinarily he would have ignored such baseless rumors, likening them to “mad fellows dancing naked in the marketplace.” However, for the sake of clarity and to avoid misleading the public, he categorically declared that he remains committed to the APC.
“I am made in APC, by APC, and for APC,” Governor Idris emphasized. He further stressed that he would be the last person to abandon the reliable and formidable party that has shaped his political career, no matter the allure or promises of any coalition, regardless of its architects and builders.
The statement also highlighted Governor Idris’s strong connection with the people of Kebbi State, noting that he is deeply loved by his constituents, who are themselves overwhelmingly loyal to the APC.
“He cannot and will not abandon his people to embrace political strangers.”
Governor Idris urged the general public to disregard the malicious report, reaffirming his commitment to delivering good governance, strengthening the APC, and consolidating on the gains and successes achieved under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
